New Introductions

New introductions are at the heart of our offer. We trial many new varieties each season, bringing only the best to you, and here in Norfolk we grow slowly, to create strong and sturdy ‘unforced’ plants that will stand the test of time not just on garden centre sales benches, but most importantly, in gardens themselves.

Development of new varieties

Initially, just a small batch of plants of each variety are tested – anywhere from 5 to 50 in each sample size. Potential ‘winners’ are selected by the research and development team and taken forward for commercial trials in Year Two of 500 plants. If successful at commercial trials the variety will be put into full-scale production with our ‘promotional’ programme in Year Three.

Temptations Branding

Our plants are enhanced with our premium quality, colour, bespoke ‘Temptations’ branded labels to drive sales in garden centres, featuring helpful RHS AGM, Industry Award Winner and Attracts Wildlife symbols where appropriate, together with useful cultural information for gardeners.

New products and awards

We have secured a string of prestigious awards for several new plant introductions that are now very well known. The launch of the popular ‘Ballerina’ style fruit trees to the trade in 1989 is one of many examples of our passion for innovation and bringing new and exciting products to the marketplace.
